Love Island Scot Shannon Singh breaks silence as she posts pic after flying home

Shannon Singh appeared to dash hopes of her return Love Island as she broke her social media silence following her dramatic exit.

The Fife model and influencer was booted from the villa after just 48 hours - the earliest a contestant has ever left the show.

Fans had hoped that the 22-year-old would return to the programme at a later date, with many suggesting that she could be one of the names announced for Casa Amor.

Her first Instagram post following her brief stay in the villa appeared to suggest she is already back in the UK.

Shannon shared a picture of herself outside in the Spanish sun, but added a geotag to London - suggesting that the post was created nearer to home.

Her return to the social media website means her return is unlikely, as previous islanders have stated that if you receive your phone back within 24 hours then the exit is official.

She wrote: “I’m back everyone! I cannot believe the amount of support I’ve received, I love every single one of you!!

“Thank you to my best friend for life @rubykellll for running my socials whilst I was gone - gutted but so grateful for the opportunity.”

Shannon also urged to viewers to “#bekind” after fellow contestant Chloe Burrows’ family said that she had been bombarded with vile messages and death threats.

The shows bosses were forced to make a statement of their own after angry fans targeted the 25-year-old reality star.

In a statement before Thursday’s show, they said: “We want Love Island to be a positive experience for all of our cast and their friends and family members.

Shannon packed her bags just 48 hours into her stay at the Love Island villa (ITV)

"Last night's episode created a strong reactions but some viewers' posts were wholly unacceptable. We take these matters extremely seriously and will support cast members and their families in reporting such posts.

"We would once again urge all of our viewers to think before posting, and remember that our Islanders are people with feelings."
