Love Island's 'yellow bean bag theory strikes again' amid villa drama

Love Island’s ‘yellow bean bag theory’ came to the fore again as Molly found herself in the middle of drama.

Molly, 21, has found herself in what appears to be a ‘love triangle’ on the new summer series on Love Island with partner Mitchel Taylor, 26, and bombshell Zachariah Noble, 25, who is partnered with Catherine Agbaje.

The love triangle escalated on last night's episode as Mitchel declared that he no longer wanted to speak to Molly after she spent "hours" speaking to Zachariah. After then spending the evening in silence, the next morning, Molly decided to clear the air, pulling Mitchel for a chat on the beanbags.

Molly joked that the reason for her drama in the villa was thanks to the ‘yellow bean bag theory’. She said: “I knew I shouldn’t have picked the yellow one on one of the first days" to which Mitchel replied: " Bad luck?”

Molly then responded: “Yeah!" to which Mitchel pointed out: "I did tell you!" After this exchange, Twitter users were quick to comment on the ‘yellow bean bag theory’ as one user said: "Molly sat on a yellow bean bag, everything makes sense! #LoveIsland."

A second added: “The curse of the yellow beanbag #loveisland” while another commented: "The yellow bean bag strikes again…… #LOVEISLAND."

Last year, the 2022 summer contestants revealed that they had been avoiding a particular seat in the villa as they all thought that the yellow bean bag was "cursed" and brought bad luck. Tasha Ghour, one of last year's finalists said at the time: "That yellow bean bag, there is a very proven fact that it does bring drama every time someone sits on it... it happens.

"So obviously if you want to go sit on it, I wish you well, but you've basically brought it on yourself because the drama happens. So... it's obviously a proven fact."

Last week, Love Island viewers noticed that Mitchel sat on the yellow bean bag with fans predicting at the time that “drama” would unfold with Molly which has since happened.
