While Love Island fans weren't surprised to see Toby Aromolaran return to the villa with a new girl on his arm, viewers may be shocked to learn he is already regretting the decision.
On Friday night's show, the fall out from the dramatic post Casa Amor recoupling begins, with 22-year-old opening up about his decision to ditch Abigail Rawlings in favour of newcomer Mary Bedford.
The move sparked fury from the female contestants with Chloe Burrows branding him a 'p**ck' after learning he'd switched his bed partner once again.
On Thursday night's episode of the hit ITV2 show, viewers only got to witness two recouplings, Hugo Hammond and Chloe opting to couple up with new partners in addition to Toby and Abigail, before the show left fans on a very dramatic cliffhanger.
Friday's offering of the ITV2 show will reveal how the rest of the islanders have chosen to couple up, as well as see the semi-pro footballer discuss his new relationship with the model from Wakefield, Yorkshire.
Following the tense scenes around the fire pit, the 22-year-old from Essex pulls former flame Abigail for a chat about his actions.
“I’m speechless. I don’t even know what to say. I didn’t know where your head was at?” he confesses to the single tattoo artist.
“Do you like her?” the 27-year-old replies to her ex partner.
Toby says: “Yeah, but I like you as well.”
Abigail says: “I’d rather you say you really like her because then it would be worth it.”
Since entering the villa as an original islander in the 2021 series, Toby has been changing his mind and switching partners regularly.
The love-seeking hopeful was previously coupled up with Kaz X and Chloe Burrows, before having his head turned yet again when bombshell Abigail arrived in the villa.
Thanks to giving into temptation at Casa Amor, the footballer has now coupled up with a fourth girl, 22-year-old Mary.
Speaking in the Beach Hut after their chat, Abigail asked the camera: “How many lessons does one guy need, seriously? Why would you throw me away?”
In relation to Toby's lack of loyalty, Love Island fans were also disappointed to Hugo's reaction to the shock recoupling.
Prior to her then partner's return to the villa, host Laura Whitmore asked Abigail if she thought Toby had stayed loyal to her during his time at Casa Amor.
The cameras then panned to the trainee teacher who appeared to smirk and snigger - a move which has angered fans.
One Twitter user fumed: "Why is Hugo smirking like that when she asked if she thinks Toby is loyal."
"Hugo is so slimes," another agreed.
"He’s smirking behind Abigail’s back #loveIsland"
However some jumped to the islander's defence, seeing the funny side of the situation.
"STOP HUGO TRYING NOT TO LAUGH THATS SO FUNNY #loveIsland," one viewer laughed, while another added: "Hugo’s face said it all."
