Love Island’s Tasha Ghouri tipped to take over from Laura Whitmore as new host

Love Island 2022 contestant Tasha Ghouri has been tipped to take over as the next host of the show following the news that Laura Whitmore is stepping down from the role.

Mother-of-one Laura had fronted the much-loved reality show since the end of 2020 but it seems the latest series was her last.

Speculation has been rife as to who will take over Laura’s villa responsibilities, with fans showing their support for Love Island runner-up Tasha, who reached the final this year.

Tasha was hugely popular viewers this summer and was the first deaf contestant to ever appear on the ITV2 series.

Now, bookies William Hill has backed her with odds of 25-1 as she adjusts to life outside of the Spanish villa with her boyfriend Andrew Le Page.

The duo are still in a relationship since making it to the final and Andrew is even committing to a British Sign Language (BSL) course at Tasha’s request.

Earlier this week, the loved-up couple hinted that a wedding could soon be on the cards.

The pair have already moved in together, with 24-year-old Tasha letting Andrew, 27, stay at her London flat. They also paid a permanent tribute to their love after getting matching rose tattoos last weekend.

It seems that their successful love story is the main reason fans think Tasha is a strong contender to be the next Love Island host.

But she’s not the only Islander that could be set for a return to the villa, with this year’s winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu priced at 6-1 to take over from Laura, whilst alumni Maura Higgins is also a strong contender at 7-1.

Also in the running are Laura's husband Iain Sterling at 14-1, as well as Dani Dyer (25-1), Rylan Clark (20-1) and Holly Willoughby (33-1).

Referring to odds, Tony Kenny, Head of Sponsorship PR at William Hill, said: “Given she made such an impression during her time in the villa, the Love Island team would be foolish not to consider Tasha Ghouri a shoo-in for the series’ host.

“Laura Whitmore has left big shoes to fill, but Tasha is perfectly-placed to step into the role - and likely has more time in her schedule than winner Ekin-Su, or Maura Higgins.”
