Love Island's Tasha and Andrew finish fourth in 2022 final - as fans fume

Love Island finalists Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page have finished the eight series of the ITV2 dating show in fourth place after a tense live finale.

The pair brought their rollercoaster experience on Love Island to a close in emotional scenes which saw them declare their love for one another.

Speaking to host Laura Whitmore about their journey, Andrew said: "For me it was tough, it was clear that I liked Tasha.

"When the Casa girls came - it was tough but I had to open myself up and see if there was another connection. But it was still Tasha."

Tasha revealed they have plans to move in together in London and continue the "good vibes".

Some fans believe Tasha and Andrew "were robbed", saying they should have finished higher than fourth place.

One person tweeted: "Tasha and Andrew were robbed Michael Owen is stealing it."

Another said: "Get in the bin Tasha and Andrew deserved better."

A third fan wrote: "Not us thinking Gemma and Luca would be 4th," while someone else said: "Tasha and Andrew were robbed are y’all mad?!?!"

The pair, who initially coupled up with each other from day one but were put up for several dumpings and recoupled after Casa Amor, left viewers gushing over their relationship.

They were the first of this year's pairings to become official boyfriend and girlfriend and Andrew was branded “son-in-law material” by dancer Tasha’s dad on Twitter.

Love Island fans were left in tears last week when Tasha and Andrew arrived at a rose-filled beach, mimicking Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker's iconic proposal, for their final date.

During the date, Andrew, 27, admitted he plans to propose to the dancer, 23, in the near future.

They seemed to go from strength to strength as the final week went on and culminated in both Love Island stars meeting one another's parents.

The contestants were thrilled to hear that their parents were finally entering the villa and meeting the other half of their couples.

Tasha and Andrew’s parents were first to walk through the island doors, with Tasha’s dad Tarek lavishing praise on Andrew.

After Andrew and Tasha both had the chance to talk to their parents separately they all gathered around the fire pit, with Tarek saying: “You know it’s love when two people on the other side of the villa are having a little look and a little smile and stuff, and a lot of body contact.”

Later on in the conversation, Tarek asked Andrew what his most memorable Love Island moment had been, before quipping: “Don’t say Coco!” referring to Andrew and Coco Lodge’s notorious dalliance during Casa Amor.

Turning serious, Tarek added: “She’s my princess, that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for a prince, but that prince needs to be strong with her when she needs it.

“And I’ve got to be honest I don’t think you’ll be good at it Andrew… I think you’ll be fantastic, and we’d love to welcome you to the family.”

The real estate agent impressed his potential future father-in-law by the way he described Tasha's cochlear implant during the baby challenge.

At one point when he was alone with baby Leo, Andrew opened up to the doll about Tasha's “superpower” in heartwarming scenes.

Tarek wrote on Twitter: “Andrew is looking more and more like son in law material. The fire pit is very special...

“Your mum told me about her super power, her super power being that she has an implant that makes her able to hear. She's very, very special and very, very brave and with this implant.”
