Love Island's sex and intimacy rules all contestants must follow - from nudity to condoms

Love Island contestants are prepped about what they can and can't do in the villa in a bid to ensure strict sexual behaviour guidelines are met.

As the current series heats up in its final few weeks fans already think they've spotted some duvet action, but the islanders are under specific instructions to adhere to what show producers consider to be acceptable behaviour.

A spokesperson for the show revealed that there is a 'strict briefing for all islanders regarding acceptable behaviour before they go in.'

They also added that everyone who stars on the show must adhere to "strict guidelines on sexual behaviour in the villa" and that there is a 'constant monitoring of islander behaviour'.

So what is in the sex handbook?

1. Masturbating is banned

Self-pleasure is apparently prohibited in the villa.
Former islander Simon Seares explaining "everyone is uptight" as "some lads suffer after doing nothing for four weeks."

2. No nudity

Nudity is also a definite no-no.

Contestants are not allowed to be naked anywhere in the villa because it’s a ‘public place’

2. Islanders should practice safe sex

Safe sex is encouraged with producers even making condoms freely available to contestants.

There are said to be 200 condoms scattered all around the villa so there's always one on hand wherever the cast might be.

This gives each of the islanders four a day between them - should they need to use them.

3. Drunk sex is banned

Drunk sex is also off limits while in the Majorcan compound.

Each night, contestants are given two drinks per night to enjoy with the other islanders.

But if someone goes a little over the edge and ends up wasted, they will be prevented from getting intimate with co-stars if they attempt to.

And anyone who does have sex in the villa, must see a counsellor afterwards.

Contestants are encouraged to talk through their decision, seek advice and get the emergency contraceptive pill if they want to.

One couple who may or may not have taken advantage of the condom haul are Hugo Hammond and Amy Day after viewers were convinced they saw a tell-tale foot poking out of the end of a bed on Sunday

The lights may have been off in the Love Island villa, but Hugo and Amy appear to have totally forgot about night-vision as the split second shot got fans racing to Twitter.

While Toby and Chloe shocked viewers on Wednesday night when they appeared to get very intimate over the covers.

The all-seeing night vision camera panned across the bedroom showing all the couples asleep in their beds while newly reconciled lovebirds Chloe and Toby were very much still awake.

Toby's head was seen dipping under the cover while Chloe remained on her back in the same position.

While the nighttime antics have kept fans guessing, dumped contestant AJ Bunker also confirmed that 'naughties' were going on in the show.

AJ revealed she had to wear ear plugs every night in the villa so she didn't have to listen to "soft porn" noises coming from the villa bedroom.

"I wore my ear plugs every night - I thought I'm not here for this sort of stuff.

"I brought 150 ear plugs with me. I came prepared so I didn't have to listen. I couldn’t listen to that soft porn," she joked.

AJ was dumped from Love Island after viewers voted for their least favourite girl, but judging by all the nocturnal nookie she had to listen to getting the boot may have come as a blessing.

Love Island Extra presenter Simon Gross said that a former Love Islander had told him that "it goes on all the time" to which AJ replied "it's definitely happening".
