Love Island's Sherif 'spent hours on his own as he didn't like the other contestants'

Axed Love Island 2019 star Sherif Lanre is said to have spent hours on his own and refused to take part in chats as he "didn't like" the other contestants.

The chef and rugby player, 20, was booted from the villa yesterday after admitting he "broke the rules".

It has now been claimed Sherif wasn't keen on mixing with the rest of the group.

A source told The Sun : "He’s been refusing to get up and take part in chats with the others and said he didn’t like any of them.

“When producers told Islanders they have to get ready to film a challenge, Sherif was deliberately spending ages in the shower.

"He said he couldn’t be bothered."

He was coupled up with Anna, who had previously told the other contestants she had barely spent any time with Sherif as he regularly disappeared.

ITV bosses have given no further explanation for Sherif's exit yesterday, but insisted it was "mutually agreed" that he should leave.

Yesterday, the Mirror Online exclusively revealed that Sherif was kicked off the show straight after making a "silly mistake".

According to our TV source, Sherif knew "immediately" that this was a leaving matter. It's unclear whether other Islanders were involved.

However, his mistake wasn't serious enough to warrant police involvement.

"Sherif made a silly mistake and was immediately summoned to the Beach Hut - it wasn't a criminal matter and he was spoken to and agreed to leave," a Love Island insider told us.

"Sherif knew he had to leave immediately after being called to the Beach Hut.

"No security were involved."

In a statement, Sherif admitted his "poor judgement" led to him leaving the villa.

"In a case of poor judgement, I broke the villa rules and as a result agreed with the producers that it was best for me to leave the villa," he said.

"I regret that I didn't conduct myself in the right way and, as a 20 year old guy, it’s something I know I will take on board and learn from.

"I really enjoyed my time in the villa and look forward to catching up with everyone on the outside."
