Love Island's Sherif Lanre speaks out after his mysterious exit from the show

Sherif Lanre has spoken out following his mysterious exit from Love Island .

The 20-year-old’s removal from the ITV2 dating show was announced on Tuesday, with the Islander explaining in a statement he had "broken the rules".

The chef posted a message on his Instagram Stories to tell his fans: “I’m all good”.

Rumours have been swirling since the confirmation of Sherif’s exit as to what rule he broke after just nine days in the villa.

But he didn’t give anything away about the story behind his ‘silly mistake’, instead thanking his friends and family for their support.

Sherif told followers: "Thank you to everyone including my friends and family for the support I've come back to.

"I appreciate you all and hope I provided some good, positive moments during my time on Love Island and for anyone wondering I'm all good."

He followed it up with the hashtags ‘it is what it is’ and ‘bigger things to come’.

In an official statement, Sherif admitted his "poor judgement" led to him leaving the villa.

"In a case of poor judgement, I broke the villa rules and as a result agreed with the producers that it was best for me to leave the villa," he said.

I regret that I didn't conduct myself in the right way and, as a 20 year old guy, it’s something I know I will take on board and learn from.

"I really enjoyed my time in the villa and look forward to catching up with everyone on the outside."

Tuesday's episode barely even acknowledged Sherif’s exit from the show, other than narrator Iain Stirling making a flippant comment about him leaving.

Sherif was coupled up with Pharmacist Anna Vakili, but despite the pair cracking on over the past few days, she did not address his exit during the episode.
