Love Island's Sharon says ITV bosses edited her 'fake girls' row with Hugo

Love Island evictee Sharon has claimed ITV bosses manipulated her "fake girls" row with Hugo.

The former civil servant made an appearance on Capital Xtra on Monday to discuss her experience on the ITV2 dating show.

During her time on series seven, Sharon and her pal Faye ended up in an explosive argument with the PE teacher after he shared his preferences in women, noting that he doesn't like the "fake look".

But now she has shared that viewers "didn't see everything" during a chat with radio host Will Njobvu.

Sharing her side of the fiery row, Sharon explained: "It was more than the comments made in the game, that really threw me off the edge a bit with those comments.

"You don't get to see everything that happens and there's more to that, when I brought it up to him."

She added: "It's not his preference that's the problem, it's the negative connotations that he used. So, for me I have no issues with his preference, everyone has a preference in everything, that's completely okay.

"I basically just wanted to say to him, 'Be a bit careful with the language that you use'."

During the row that shook Love Island fans, the contestants were asked to list their turn offs in a partner.

Hugo stated he doesn't like "fake girls", which infuriated Sharon and Faye, who have both had lip fillers and boob jobs.

He went on to say: "Leggy blonde. Not fake," while describing his ideal partner.

Faye scolded: "That word keeps getting thrown around, doesn't it?"

And realising he had upset some of the girls, Hugo sobbed: "I didn't mean anything malicious did I?"

Sharon added: "I think I was just annoyed as a mate, I respect him enough to say to him, what you're saying is upsetting me."

After they cooled off, Hugo later said: "I just didn't mean to upset anyone, that's the last thing I wanted."

Sharon, who was previously coupled-up with Aaron, recently left the villa.

The Mirror has contacted ITV for comment.

*ITV2 continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV2.
