Love Island’s Shannon says ‘family will support anything I do’ including having sex on TV

Love Island contestant Shannon Singh has confirmed that her family will support anything she does on the ITV2 dating show.

The popular series returns on Monday 28 June and 22-year-old Shannon is definitely ready to get stuck in.

Model Shannon used to be a glamour girl and is more than confident when it comes to showing off her body in a bikini.

Speaking to press including The Mirror, Shannon spoke about how her parents reacted when she told them she would be going on Love Island.

"My mum and dad were actually really thrilled. I’ve got really good parents that support everything that I do," she said.

"So yeah, my mum’s thrilled for me and my dad’s excited... they’re all just really excited I think.

"I think they’re a tiny bit nervous and emotional, as anyone would be, but they’re all rooting for me."

Asked what are parents would think of her having sex in the Spanish villa, Shannon replied: "We’ve not really discussed it.

"I don’t think it’s something that you sit with your family and discuss. But I think they’ll support anything that I do and I honestly can’t predict what’s going to happen in that villa, I wouldn’t even try to.

"But yeah I’m really lucky that I’ve just got the best support system around me. so I know whatever happens for whatever reason, my mum and dad and my family are backing me, which I’m really grateful for," she added.

Shannon was very open about the fact that she wants to find that special someone and would like to have children in a few years.

Asked what she's hoping to get out of the Love Island experience, she said: "So I think it’s just going in there and trying to meet someone that does have the same values as me.

"I’m a family girl, I want a good career obviously and I think just settling down with someone. I’m really family orientated.

"I want kids in a few years. I want to settle down and have a family. Hopefully I do come out with someone who is on the same wavelength as me and if I don’t, at least I tried."

But arrogant guys needn't try their luck with the stunning brunette as she finds them a major turn off.

"I love old souls, all my friends are older, I just get on with people who have got a bit of an older soul," she explained.

"So I think a really young, arrogant like cocky lad just like coming in, like if he was chocolate he would eat himself, that’s not my vibe at all.

Shannon said that 'arrogance and cockiness' are her biggest turn offs (Instagram)

"I like guys that are funny, really down-to-earth, very family orientated because I’m such a family girl, but I think if a guy just comes in and he’s too excited like he’s got a rocket up his a**e, I just think, 'calm down, take a deep breath'.

"I would say arrogance and cockiness are definitely my biggest turn offs," Shannon added.

Love Island starts at 9pm Monday 28th June on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox
