Love Island's Samie admits she only went on show for FAME in brutal statement after Tom split

Samie Elishi has brutally admitted she only went on Love Island for fame in a clip that emerged hours after her split with Tom Clare was revealed.

The 22-year-old estate agent co-ordinator is said to have secretly called it quits with Macclesfield FC footballer Tom, 23, weeks after the ITV dating show ended.

But the news only went public yesterday after the couple – who came third on the Winter Love Island show – had been spotted living separate lives.

Speaking on former Love Islander Chloe Burrows’ new YouTube show, Samie was asked: “Did you go on Love Island for love or did you go on for exposure?”

Londoner Samie replied: “I’m going to be honest, mine was the second one. I didn’t expect to meet anyone.”

It is unknown when the clip was filmed, but then boyfriend Tom was awkwardly sat next to her during the interview.

Samie’s brutally honest answer was in stark contrast to Tom’s, who said he did go on the show to find love.

He added: “I think mine was I really wanted to meet someone, but in the first two weeks I was like, ‘I’m stuffed here, there’s no one for me.’”

Speaking over the top of Tom, sarcastic Samie hit back at the suggestion anyone is really on the show to find love, saying: “It’s f***ing Love Island!”

Giving more insight into the show, host Chloe revealed she forced her own relationships on Love Island just so she could stay in the show.

She shared: “I obviously didn’t fancy Hugo. The producers were like ‘Come on’ so I went and chatted to him but I was like, ‘Nah, I can’t do it. Sorry can’t do it!’

“I was thinking ‘I want to stay in here, boy’ so I’m going to chat to whoever you want me to chat to. I’ll do whatever you want.”

Chloe later came runner up in the 2021 series of the show with then-boyfriend Toby Aromolaran.

But the couple went their separate ways in October 2022 - and Toby later joked most couples try and make it to at least a year as 'that’s when the contract’s up’.

Londoner Samie and Barnsley lad Tom are the third Love Island couple to split a month after appearing on the winter 2023 series.

A source told The Sun: “Samie and Tom have sadly decided to call it a day. There is a lot of love and respect there but it just wasn’t going anywhere.

“The distance between them was too much and they are both really focused on their careers post Love Island.”

Casey O'Gorman, 26, and Rosie Seabrook, 24, were dumped from the villa just days before the final.

Just two weeks later announced they had split, revealing "life outside the villa is just very different for them".

Another couple to call time on their relationship is Olivia Hawkins , 27, and Maxwell Samuda, 23, who reportedly "drifted apart" after leaving the villa.
