Former Love Island star Sam Bird has admitted sliding into influencer Molly-Mae Hague's DMs before she became a household name on this year’s show.
Speaking to Digital Spy, the Season 4 cast member made the admission during a game of ‘Give Me Some Flak’ as he answered probing questions alongside fellow Love Island star Kendall Rae Knight.
When asked if the pair knew any of this year’s Islanders, Kendall said she had previously met Molly-Mae during a social media influencers’ trip to Dubai earlier this year.
She said: “That’s the first time I’ve met her.”
Sheepishly, 26-year-old Sam then revealed: “I think I slipped into her DMs once.”
Giggling and blushing slightly, he continued: “"Then I think we were chatting on WhatsApp, but nothing ever happened…”
Just for clarity he quickly said: “Tommy, I'm not interested, so it's all good. But yeah, nothing happened. Tommy, don't beat me up, she's all yours."
Molly-Mae and Tommy Fury are currently favourites to win Love Island 2019, and have been described as the villa’s steadiest couple this year.
Season 4 of Love Island aired last year and ran for 59 days.
Sam Bird entered the villa on day 19 and was ejected on day 47, and enjoyed a short-lived romance with Georgia Steel when back in the real world .
However, their relationship crashed and burned after Sam discovered Georgia had been cheating on him with her ex.
