Love Island's Priya got paid £750 for time on the show and donated it to charity

Love Island legend Priya Gopaldas has donated her salary from Love Island to the NHS.

The 23-year-old medical student enjoyed some time in the villa and met Brett Staniland earlier this month, before Millie and Liam were crowned winners on Monday.

And Priya has revealed exactly how much she earned during her time on the dating show, before confirming she has also donated it to NHS Charities Together.

Sharing a screenshot as proof of her generous donation, Priya told followers that the £750 pay cheque she got from the show was given entirely to charity.

"Love Island pay cheque put to use," she wrote alongside a snap of her bank balance.

It is one of the rare times a Love Islander has revealed how much they got paid while being on the show.

Contestants get around £250 for every week they are on viewers' screens, according to The Sun.

It's reported the money they are given is to help cover bills, rent and general costs back home as they spend time in the villa.

Priya and Brett were dumped just one week before the big final.

It was hardly a shock for fans, given they had not been together or even on the show for very long at all, and were feeling pretty awkward during their dinner date.

Priya possibly sealed her fate on the show after confessing to others in the previous episode that she wasn't that into Brett, with the public vote then opening after that episode.

Following her exit from the villa, Priya took to her Instagram and thanked fans for their support.

"Totally overwhelmed and HUGELY grateful for all the positive support I’ve received after my little stint on @loveisland Thank you, all of your kind messages definitely don’t go unnoticed," she wrote.

"Spending the next week soaking up the sunshine out here in Mallorca and shall be answering some questions about my experience in the villa on my story this evening"

Priya had to spend a week in quarantine with Brett before heading back home to the UK.

It's believed Liberty Poole and Jake Cornish were subject to a similar situation before flying back home to their families as well.
