Love Island's Priya and Brett brutally dumped by public as villa set to erupt

Love Island aired dramatic scenes on Monday night, as the result of the latest dumping was announced to the Islanders - just as viewers predicted carnage.

Priya Gopaldas and Brett Staniland were confirmed to be the couple with the fewest votes, and they were told to leave the show immediately.

It was hardly a shock, given they had not been together or even on the show for very long at all, and were feeling pretty awkward during the date on Sunday's episode.

Priya possibly sealed her fate on the show after confessing to others in the previous episode that she wasn't that into Brett, with the public vote then opening after that episode.

On Sunday night, the Islanders were told to vote in their couples who they believed to be the least compatible pairing.

Those with the fewest votes would be at risk of being dumped, while the result rested on the public vote which was announced on Monday night.

Faye and her partner Teddy Soares were one of four couples at risk, including Liberty Poole and Jake Cornish, Mary Bedford and Aaron Simpson and Priya and Brett.

When it came down to it, the four couples at risk had to stand in front of the safe Islanders and awaited to learn their fates.

It's then that it was announced who was leaving, as Aaron received a text asking everyone to gather at the fire pit immediately.

Jake got a message of his own, which read: "The public have been voting to save their favourite couple.

"The three couples with the most votes will stay in the Villa. The couple with the fewest votes will be dumped from the Island."

The vote was then revealed, with Priya and Brett told they were going home then and there.

As they said their goodbyes, viewers predicted drama could be about to unfold in the villa as the vulnerable Islanders questioned who had voted for them.

Love Island airs every night at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
