Love Island's Paige Turley 'struggles' to be taken seriously after Lewis Capaldi and finding fame on ITV show

Paige Turley has revealed she is not taken seriously as a music artist since appearing on Love Island and going out with Lewis Capaldi.

The blonde bombshell went on to win Love Island in 2020 with beau Finley Tapp.

The two are still together and share a home in Manchester.

Paige, from Fauldhouse in West Lothian, also dated Lewis for around a year when the pair were around 18 and both budding singers after meeting at college in Motherwell.

However, she told BBC One More Tune's Kerr Okan that she has struggled to be taken seriously as a musical artist since leaving the ITV reality show, despite her huge platform.

Paige Turley and Finley Tapp won the winter series (ITV2)

She said: "I think a lot of people thought that coming from the show would be this huge advantage because I've got a platform and people that follow me.

"But if anything it's more difficult I've found. It's a bit of a double-edged sword.

"I've got this platform but people don't know me for music so it's been challenging but hopefully in the long run it pays off.

"A lot of the audience that are there just now want to see what you're wearing, they want to see how you're styling your hair.

"So if you put on anything music-related they don't know you or follow you for that.

"It's then trying to find additional fans that are there for the music as well as what I wear my hair like or what I wear my clothes like."

Paige has had a successful career as a social media influencer since coming off the show, and worked with brands like Hello Fresh, DisneyWorld and In The Style.

Alongside her boyfriend, the two have released a couples pyjama collection with online fashion retailer In The Style.

The budding singer appeared on Britain's Got Talent in 2015 when she was just 14 years old.

Her performance was branded “fantastic” by judge Simon.

The music guru said: “I think you are absolutely fantastic. You have a really, really interesting, unique voice.”

“I really, really like you.”

Alesha Dixon told the teen she should be “proud” of her performance and said she looked “adorable”.

She told Paige: “I love the way you have such control over your voice. I think you should be really proud of that performance.”

One More Tune is available on BBC iPlayer.
