Love Island’s Paige Thorne left fuming with boys as Antigoni Buxton is sent home

Love Island star Paige Thorne was left fuming with the boys after they’d decided to send Antigoni Buxton home in tense scenes that aired on Friday’s show.

A night earlier credits rolled on a very frantic cliffhanger as the Islanders were told to gather round the fire pit and then told that the public had been voting for their favourite couples in the Love Island villa. The results put Andrew and Tasha, Jay and Danica and Charlie and Antigoni in danger, with their fate resting in the hands of the safe contestants.

Paige, Ekin-Su, Gemma and Indiyah had to decide which guy to send packing, while it was down to Jacques, Davide, Luca and Dami to choose a girl to get the boot.

The girls opted to axe Charlie and, as Luca revealed they’d chosen Antigoni go home, Paige’s face was like thunder as she mumbled “what?!” and, as Gemma looked shocked next to her, added: “What just happened there?”

Looking directly at Antigoni, Paige mouthed: “I’m sorry hun,” as Antigoni, in response asked: “Why?”

Paige wasn’t the only one left questioning the lads’ decision. Having been saved by the girls, Jay asked Jacques what the “thought process,” was behind getting rid of Antigone, but got short shrift from the rugby player as he told him to shut up.

Justifying his, Davide, Jacques and Dani’s choice to Gemma, Luca said there would have been the same reaction had Tasha or Danica had been chosen to go.

Antigoni and Charlie’s exit comes just as the door to Casa Amor open again for the first time this year, with the Casa Amor boys now confirmed, including Ronan Keating’s son Jack.
