Love Island's Paige Thorne confirms plans to return to day job as paramedic

Paige Thorne has confirmed plans to return to her day job as a paramedic after her stint on Love Island.

Welsh gir l Paige was one of the day one contestants on the latest series of the hit ITV dating show. After initially being coupled up with Luca, her head was turned by Gemma Owen's ex Jacques O'Neill when he entered the villa as a bombshell at the end of the first week.

Despite having a few bumps in the road and some tension in the aftermath of Casa Amor, Paige and Jacques were a couple on Love Island for well over a month. However, that all changed when Newcastle gym owner Adam Collard made a shock return to the show four years after his first appearance as a contestant.

After becoming annoyed by Adam making a play for Paige, Jacques quit Love Island just a day later and, with him gone, Paige and Adam got closer and ended up finishing in fifth place, getting the boot right before the final.

The couple were the subject of split reports last week after Paige headed straight back to Swansea and Adam came home to Newcastle but, they put on a united front when they appeared as guests on Friday's Lorraine.

Stand-in host Ranvir Singh asked what was next for them work wide, given that Gemma and Ekin-Su have both landed big money clothing deals in the last few days and it was then that Paige revealed she is having a meeting about going back to doing paramedic work again.

Paige told Ranvir: "Personally for me, I've got a meeting to go back to paramedic work, so that will be exciting."

She continued: "I actually saw an ambulance the other day with sirens on and I had serious FOMO, I was like 'get me my ambulance back,' so I'm going to go back into that a little bit and just see what other opportunities come."

Ranvir replied: "People will be surprised to hear you say that won't they I think? That you're going back to a public service job, something that isn't necessarily seen as glamorous or the high warnings influencers get."

Adam then commented: "I think people will be surprised how much she spoke about it in the villa as well. I loved that."
