Love Island's Montana Brown slams 'irresponsible' influencers and denies fleeing lockdown

Love Island's Montana Brown has lashed out at influencers posting pictures from their lavish trips abroad while Brits back at home have been struggling through lockdown.

The reality star, 25, who has been in Barbados since December, says she travelled out there to see family before tough new restrictions were brought in - and she decided to stay.

Montana says she hasn't been bombarded with abuse from followers for posting pictures of her trip in the sunshine, and insists she shouldn't be judged the same as other influencers.

She told The Sun on Sunday : "I travelled before there was a national lockdown to see my family, so it was legal for me to travel. I spent Christmas out here.

"I've been here ever since..."

She added of other influencers: "I do think it is insensitive and irresponsible to put on social media that you’re partying or with a large group of people...

"We have a social responsibility to stick to the guidelines in some capacity and just be aware that other people are going through hell."

Montana went on to insist she feels it's "safer" for her to stay in Barbados, and it's better for her recently-launched swimsuit business.

The telly star previously came under fire for jetting off to the Maldives on a business trip back in November during the UK's second national lockdown.
