Love Island's Michael Griffiths inhales from a balloon at wild party in Ibiza

Love Island star Michael Griffiths has been caught on camera inhaling from a balloon at a wild party in Ibiza.

The firefighter, 27, was filmed during a raucous night out with his mates on holiday last summer.

In Mirror Online's exclusive clip, Michael and his mates were seen sucking on balloons in a hotel room in the Spanish party resort.

The telly hunk appeared to have what looked like a green canister in his hand which he seemed to be using to fill the balloon.

He was then shown holding the balloon to his mouth and inhaling.

The incident took place during a lads' holiday to the sun-soaked island last summer before he had been picked to enter the Love Island villa.

It is not known what was in the balloon that Michael was inhaling from, but parytgoers are known to use them to suck up nitrous oxide - also known as laughing gas, whippits or hippie crack.

Supply of the substance - which is highly flammable - for recreational purposes is banned in the UK and it has been linked to eight deaths in Britain.

Officials in Ibiza have also cracked down on nitrous oxide in recent years with anyone caught inhaling it in public facing a fine of up to £1,400.

The sale of balloons in the street has also been banned in the Spanish party resort.

The drug is generally bought in small pressurised cannisters which are used to transfer the gas to a balloon, from which it can be inhaled by the user.

Nitrous oxide can cause dizziness and impair judgement, and in large doses can cause users to faint.

It's the latest drama for Michael, who hit headlines this week for dramatically dumping his partner Amber for new girl Joanna.

He went on to become embroiled in a massive argument with Amber and Anna, while fans accused him of gaslighting his ex by twisting the truth about their relationship to justify his decision to ditch her.

Mirror Online has contacted a representative for Love Island for comment.
