Love Island's Maya Jama lookalike has made 30k since she took over as host

The winter season of Love Island has made a lot of headlines and caught the nation's attention, but the focus isn't always on the contestants.

Maya Jama has wowed audiences with her gorgeous outfits during her first season hosting the show. Her flawless style and fun personality have won over fans quickly, which look-a-like Toni Camille knows only too well as she claims to have seen her earnings skyrocket since Maya joined Love Island.

Toni raked in £30k in just three weeks since the newest season started, doubling her earnings from the same timeframe the previous month, the Mirror reports.

Toni, who creates adult content on the subscription site Fanvue, said: "I'm a huge fan of Maya, and she is absolutely stunning, so it's flattering my fans think I look like her. I've doubled my earnings on Fanvue from Maya being on Love Island and my likeness to her. I'm just trying to ride the wave as much as I can right now."

And this isn't the first time Maya has boosted Toni's business, according to the 26-year-old. She added: "I think it first started when she first went on Glow Up, but it’s just been mental since she’s been on Love Island and everyone's been talking about how flawless she's been. I've got so many new followers off the back of it, it's like people typed in Maya Jama and mistook me for her.

"I can't lie I'm really flattered. I'm definitely taking the compliment! So many people have said it to me now I feel like I can see the resemblance yeah, especially with different hairstyles and outfits."

Since Maya Jama joined Love Island, Toni's earnings have skyrocketed (L to R, Maya Jama, Toni Camille) (Toni Camille / Idea Farm)

Toni has leaned into the look-a-like comments and recreated some of the presenter's looks from the show and spin-off show Aftersun. She said: "I'm seeing more requests asking me to replicate certain outfits or pictures of hers in my own style which is where a lot of my income is coming from."

The content creator doesn't mind that new followers might only be subscribing for her similarity to Maya Jama, instead, she thinks it's "great" and has "no complaints." As a fan of Maya herself, Toni added: "She's just so gorgeous isn’t she, I've really been loving watching her on the show."

Toni was not an overnight success and did not plan to tap into the look-a-like market, as she didn't see the similarities herself at the start. She worked as a cleaner before "trying to make ends meet", and reached a point where she has "nothing to lose" so took the plunge into adult content creation.

Now Maya is on Love Island, her monthly earnings have doubled and Toni wants to treat herself this summer, she said: "Booking a villa getaway for me and my friends is high on the list."

That villa won't be ITV's infamous Love Island Villa however as she has no plans to become a contestant but would "never say never." She added: "Kai or Ron on this year's series are definitely a bit of me, maybe I'll slide into their DMs when they’re out."
