Love Island's Maya Jama joked 'someone's getting fired' after dumping blunder

Will Young has claimed Maya Jama joked that someone would be "getting fired" after a Love Island editing blunder saw Will and Jessie's exit from the villa leaked before it was announced on the show.

Love Island viewers were left baffled as it was revealed in an advert break Will and Jessie would be joining Maya, 28, on Aftersun – despite it not being announced on the main show they had left the villa yet.

Maya had also already posted a video on Instagram, which saw Jessie and Will stood in the background ready for Aftersun, but things turned worse when they aired a clip of Maya saying she'd be chatting with dumped Islanders Will and Jessie and Casey and Rosie.

ITV appeared to stay quiet on the blunder, while fans fumed over the huge spoiler – which took place just days before the final crowned Kai and Sanam.

Now, Will has revealed that host Maya said someone would be "getting fired" as he appeared in Grace Barry's podcast, Saving Grace.

Podcast host Grace asked Will: "I don't know what happened on Aftersun, but they f**ked up because..."

"Yeah," Will replied as Grace continued: "You heard about it. Did you guys hear about it when Aftersun was going on?"

Will then spilled: "Yeah, Maya told us. Because I'm stood there before going," before gesturing making animal faces as Grace added: "Yeah because they were like 'people that left, Will and Jessie' and we were all sat there like, 'they haven't announced they have left yet' we were baffled."

Will then recalled: "Yeah Maya kind of spoke to us and went, 'Something's going on, someone's gonna get fired!'"

"Was there hysteria or was it fine," Grace asked as Will replied: "To be fair we were just in this little cabin so we didn't see, we were just chilling."

"I bet there was hysteria," Grace said as Will responded: "Yeah, someone was in trouble!"

Viewers had fumed over the mistake on the night it happened, as one wrote on Twitter : "Ooh ITV doing one worse than Maya's Instagram as they just revealed to everyone that isn't on social media who got dumped #loveisland."

"Dumped islanders continues to show Casey, Rosie, Will & Jessie … showing who leaves before they even air it #LoveIsland," a second added, whilst a third wrote: "Lmaoooo what a blunder!! They have just revealed that Will and Jessie have been dumped in that aftersun clip #loveIsland." A fourth added: "WHY ARE THEY TELLING US WHO IS DUMPED ALREADY #loveisland."

Will and Jessie had their final date, where she asked him to be her boyfriend and even met one another's parents.

But, the much-loved couple narrowly missed out on a place in the final. Tanya and Shaq, Tom and Samie, Lana and Will and Kai and Sanam all went through to the final – with Kai and Sanam crowned as the series winners.
