Love Island's Maura is the new This Morning agony aunt - and kicked off by talking about Curtis and sexuality

Maura Higgins spoke out today following Curtis Pritchard’s revelation that he “wouldn’t rule out” a same-sex relationship in the future.

The couple have only been out of the Love Island villa for a week and already fans of the ITV2 show are doubting the longevity of their partnership after Curtis’ revelation.

Addressing earlier comments about his sexuality, Curtis cryptically said today on Lorraine: “The future is an unwritten path sometimes and you don’t know.”

Today Maura - who is This Morning’s new agony aunt - told Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford what she thought about his comments.

When asked if it will affect their relationship, Maura said: "I mean...we're very happy and taking things slow. You don’t have to put a label on anything. He makes me happy and I make him happy. That's what's important."

As well as seemingly taking it all on the chin, the Love Island finalist also confessed that she is "not in love" with the professional dancer.

Maura replied: "In the villa it's very different. Now we're out of the villa we just want to take things slow. Go on dates. We’ve not had our first official date outside yet.

"We just want to do normal things and see how it goes. I’m very happy with him."

She added: "I’m not in love just yet, but I’m definitely getting the feels.”

Maura and Curtis got together controversially just a day after he told Amy Hart that “something was missing” in their ‘half-girlfriend/half-boyfriend’ relationship.

But Maura believes she did nothing wrong, and says it was because of Amy's feelings that she didn't make her intentions clear about fancying Curtis earlier.

She explained: "What you haven’t seen is week one I actually said if I'd come in here earlier I would have gone for Curtis. You didn’t see that. Lucie knew that and even Amy knew."

The Irish grid girl admitted she’d only seen bits of the show back, and didn’t have any intentions of watching the entire series.

"I actually cringe when I’m watching it back. I don’t ever think I will watch the whole series,” she said.

"I just say what I’m thinking. There's no filter with me. Sometimes I say things I probably shouldn’t but why hide it. I don’t have any regrets. I go for what I want and say what I want."

This Morning airs weekdays from 10.30am on ITV.
