Love Island's Maura Higgins joins This Morning as islander lands dream presenting gig

Love Island star Maura Higgins is the real winner of the show – after landing a prime job on ITV show This Morning.

The finalist, 28, will host her own phone-in, providing viewers with her much-loved no-nonsense advice.

She will also appear in a strand called Maura Than Meets the Eye, a series of short films in which she takes on challenges across the country.

Higgins said: “I’m getting flutters about joining This Morning.

“I can’t believe it. It’s beyond my wildest dreams.

“I’ve grown up watching Phillip, Holly, Eamonn, Ruth and the team.

“Mad to think I’m now part of that iconic family. Can’t wait to crack on.”

Maura is the first of this year’s islanders to land a TV role.

She will be chatting about the new gig to Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford on the This Morning sofa on Monday.

Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby are currently on holiday.

This Morning editor Martin Frizell said: “Maura was the stand out star of this year’s villa antics with her straight-talking opinionated views.”

Maura is dating Curtis Pritchard from the show, which was won by Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea.

Some 3.63million people tuned in to watch the couple named the surprise winners of the £50,000 prize on Monday.

It was the most watched Love Island final ever and the most watched episode of the series.
