Love Island's Maura Higgins lands This Morning presenter role

Straight-talking Love Island star Maura Higgins is the real winner of the show – after landing a high-profile job on This Morning.

The finalist, 28, will host her very own phone-in providing viewers with her much-loved no-nonsense advice.

She will also appear in a strand called Maura Than Meets the Eye, a series of short films in which she takes on challenges across the country.

She said: “I’m getting flutters about joining This Morning. I can’t believe it. It’s beyond my wildest dreams.

“I’ve grown up watching Phillip, Holly, Eamonn, Ruth and the team. Mad to think I’m now part of that iconic family. Can’t wait to crack on.”

Maura, from Co Longford in Ireland, is the first of this year’s islanders to land a TV role.

This Morning editor Martin Frizell said: “Maura was the stand out star of this year’s villa antics with her straight-talking opinionated views.”

She'll be in good company, presenting the show with Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford (ITV)

She will be chatting about the new gig to Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford on the This Morning sofa on Monday.

Regular presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby are currently on holiday.

Maura is dating professional ballroom dancer Curtis Pritchard from the show, which was won by Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea.
