Love Island fans have gone wild after a Dancing On Ice teaser photo appears to show Maura Higgins in the line-up.
The ITV show returned to screens in 2018 after a four year break, and was an immediate hit with viewers.
With the show set to return to screens in the New Year, bosses have already been teasing the line-up using a string of Instagram posts.
The most recently shared snap shows the extreme close-up of a tanned female face, with the unidentified star’s pout and luscious chocolate brown locks taking up most of the frame.
For Love Island fans, this was enough to convince them that Maura would be part of the upcoming show's line-up.
The image, which was also shared on Twitter , was captioned: “We can’t wait for this celeb to get their skates on…”
Fans immediately flooded the post, convinced that the woman in the photo was the Irish grid girl.
One delighted fan wrote: “Pls can this be Maura,” while another said: “I’m convinced this is Maura omg.”
However, not everyone was pleased, with one outraged Dancing On Ice fan writing: “For Pete’s sake if it’s someone off Love Island, they are not a ‘celeb’. Maybe we should just call it randoms on ice.”
Others pointed out that the image could also be that of Maisie Smith, who portrays Tiffany Butcher on EastEnders.
If the image is of Maura, it would make her the third Love Islander to step onto the ice.
