Love Island's Lucinda Strafford signed up to show after footballer boyfriend cheated

Love Island's Lucinda Strafford is looking for love this summer.

And the 21-year-old is even more determined to find a new man after splitting from her cheating ex, the Premier League footballer Aaron Connolly.

The blonde beauty was a stewardess for British Airways but was made redundant after the coronavirus pandemic stopped all flights across the world.

She dated the Brighton & Hove Albion star for two years before he cheated on her with another woman, and allegedly got caught on camera having sex with her while breaching lockdown rules.

She also owns her own business, The Luxe Range boutique, and is hoping to use the show to promote her company, as she mostly models her collection herself on her social media accounts.

Aaron is said to be not happy about Lucinda's stint in the villa, and reportedly begged her not to go in a few weeks before she jetted off.

"They’ve seen each other, been at each other’s houses and had dinner, but over the last couple of days she has told a few people she’s going to be on Love Island and now Aaron knows and isn’t very happy. They have argued about her going in," a source told The Sun newspaper.

The insider added: "She’s going in to plug her business. She wants fame and money - she’s always wanted to be a celebrity. She’s trying to become an influencer, she wants to do it for her business.

"Aaron’s really upset and really annoyed about it. They were together for two years and then broke up."

Aaron was hoping the pair could give it a go after reconciling and he's "very upset" by her decision.

"He was seeing other people and she was jealous, but over the past few months they’ve been seeing each other, going for dinner and reconciling and now he’s found out about Love Island he’s very upset," the source said.

Lucinda had been asked by bosses to do the show previously but she decided against it as her work was too busy, but being made redundant gave her the time to appear on the programme.

She made a brief appearance during last night's show as she prepares to enter the villa as a bombshell alongside Millie Court.

The business owner thinks she'll find a lot of friends on the show - as well as a boyfriend hopefully too.

"Liberty's a similar age to me, so I think I’ll probably get along with her, she seems funny. I like Kaz, she seems really bubbly. I can tell Faye can stand up for herself, but I also quite like that about her. So I don’t feel like we’ll rub against each other," she said.

"There’s none that I think that I won’t get along with just yet. But I’ll need to be with them 24/7 to know if I will get along with them or not."
