Love Island's Lucinda slams Aaron Connolly rumours and explains who was minding dog

Love Island’s Lucinda Strafford has come out to reveal the truth behind rumours circulating since she entered the villa.

While she was a contestant on the ITV show, some suggested that she and Irish footballer, Aaron Connolly, were still together and that the 21-year-old had even dropped her off at the airport on her way to Majorca.

As well as this, people then pointed out that Connolly was minding her dog, which further sparked rumours of an ongoing romance between the pair.

However, since her exit from the villa having been voted out by the public, Lucinda spoke with the Daily Mail and said the relationship is completely over with - from her side anyway.

She said the pair ended things four months before she went on the show, and that Connolly had no idea she would be taking part in the series.

Speculation is rife that Lucinda is actually still secretly dating Aaron despite competing on Love Island (Getty Images)

She explained that: "Never in a million years would I go on Love Island if I was in a relationship, and I'm sure if I had a boyfriend, he wouldn't be very happy with it either."

Lucinda then went on to say that she is ‘completely and utterly single’ and there was no truth around any of the rumours.

As for why he was minding the dog; “We ended quite dramatically at the start of March but then we made friends, and we share a dog, it's a shared dog and he's been looking after it.

“It was at my mum's house and my mum couldn't look after three dogs, so it seemed right, he was looking after it.

”We broke up quite a while ago now, but the ship has definitely sailed between him and me.”

Love Island returns tonight at 9:00 pm on ITV and Virgin Media One.
