Love Island's Liam eager to move to be with Millie but they won't live together just yet

Love Island winner Liam Reardon has confessed he will move to Essex to continue his blossoming romance with girlfriend Millie Court.

However, despite the couple becoming official moments before winning the hit dating show, he's revealed that the pair won't live together for at least six months.

The 22-year-old hunk from Merthyr Tydfil in Wales doesn't want distance to get in the way of his relationship with the 24-year-old blonde beauty so will make the three-hour move to her home area.

But the pair have revealed they will live apart for the time being to give themselves a chance to acclimatise to life outside of the Majorcan villa.

In his exit interview, Liam said: "I love where I'm from but I would like to venture off and move to somewhere new and Essex seems like the perfect place really.

"I know some of the boys who were in the villa we got on so well and they mentioned moving in together and they’d like to move to Essex so that’s something I would definitely be considering and that’s my plan really, moving to Essex."

He admitted that somewhere down the line he plans to move in with his new beau but insists he doesn't want to add any more pressure onto the pair just yet.

Millie agreed and spoke of similar plans with some of the girls from the show. She added: “We haven’t been away from each other yet to miss each other and do those things that you do in normal relationships.

"But us girls [from the villa] will rent a house in Essex, boys will rent a house in Essex, see how that goes for six months and then get a crack on with it [moving in together]."

Despite their resistance to move quickly, both Liam and Millie have no plans to slow down their relationship in the real world.

Millie continued: "The one thing I want to make sure is that we still stay as strong as we are now."

And thinking even further ahead, the Welshman confessed that he has big plans for an eventual proposal.

"It’s going to be huge," he said. "I’m sure I can pull it out of the bag. I’m sure I can do it."

Liam and Millie split the £50,000 cash prize for winning Love Island on Monday night with both insisting they were in the villa for love not money.

Some of their former islanders watched on at extravagant afterparties as the loved-up pair were crowned victorious.

The likes of Hugo Hammond, Aaron Francis and Sharon Gaffka were put up in a swanky hotel in London before partying with VIP guests.

And Lillie Haynes - who came close to splitting the eventual winners after turning Liam's head in Casa Amor - attended a shindig in Manchester.

Fans were quick to comment on her apparent "childish" reaction to the couple getting named winners.

The Geordie lass appeared to turn her back on the big screen as their names were called out by Laura Whitmore.
