Love Island's Laura Whitmore teases 'bombshell twist' for launch episode with 'beds' clue

Love Island's new host Laura Whitmore teased a major "bombshell" for Sunday's launch by giving away a clue about the bed situation.

Fans of the hit ITV2 series will know that there is nearly always a twist in store for the Islanders at the beginning to the series - be it a sudden arrival or a quick fire test.

Laura, who has replaced Caroline Flack, gave GMB's Richard Arnold a tour of the brand new villa in South Africa.

As they reached the huge glossy new bedroom, Entertainment Editor Richard pointed out a disparity between the number of beds and contestants.

"There's 14 beds and 12 contestants," he remarked.

Laura grinned, replying: "Almost like there might be a bombshell happening..."

The pair ventured into other areas of the villa, which is bigger than ever for its winter version.

Entering the lounge, Laura said: "There's a lot of space for conversations and relationships to grow.

"Lots of little nooks and crannies if you want to get away from everyone else."

This comes after this year's girls dished the dirt ahead of entering the villa for the first time.

Sleeping arrangements mean the contestants are just feet away from each other in the communal bedroom when they’re “doing bits”... which won’t go down well with Londoner Leanne.

“If it’s keeping me awake, it’s going to be a problem,” the 22-year-old has warned. “I might throw water.”

Meanwhile Lewis Capaldi’s ex-girlfriend has said she is “flattered” to learn that his chart-topping hit Someone Like You was written about her – and reckons that producers will use it to soundtrack her heartache on the show.

Scottish Paige, 22, sighed: “That will be my walk-in song.”
