Love Island's Laura Whitmore is travel ready with just one week to go before new series

New Love Island host Laura Whitmore is raring to go with just a week before the new series kicks off.

The sixth series, and the first winter edition, will see the new band of sexy singles assemble in the Cape Town villa on 12th January.

Laura stepped up as the new host - following former host Caroline Flack's departure - and it seems she can hardly contain her excitement.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, the Irish beauty filmed herself dancing in the car, writing: "Just picked up my passport. Visa ready."

She also shared an emoji of the South African flag.

It's a huge role for Laura to land, and one that's bound to have meaning for her - especially as she's dating the Love Island narrator and fan favourite Iain Stirling.

Rumours swirled in December over who would be filling Caroline's shoes after she was charged with assault and arrested.

Eventually, bosses at ITV settled on Laura, which Caroline couldn't be more chuffed about.

In response to a post from Laura's beau Iain, in which he commended Caroline for her fantastically successful career, Caroline penned: "I love you, thank you Iain. Good to have you and your lady together."

Iain had written: "Whilst I'm sad Caroline Flack won't be joining our team in South Africa for the first ever Winter Love Island, I understand her decision to step down from the series.

"And she should be so proud of her achievements over our many series!"

During a recent appearance on Loose Women, the Scottish comedian gushed of his girlfriend: "She's great isn't she? I think she's great.

"Yes, I love her. And there are mortgage commitments that need to be considered..."

When he was asked if the show would let the two spend more quality time together, he revealed: "More, because she'll be coming back and forth to South Africa every now and again.

"I'm there the whole time. They take me to a hot country and put me in a box."

Caroline meanwhile left on Sunday for Los Angeles, with her expected to be clearing her head across the pond.

She's set to return to court in March, having previously pleaded not guilty to the assault charge.
