Love Island's Laura Whitmore called out by her own family for being Masked Singer's Octopus

Love Island host Laura Whitmore has been called out by her own family over rumours she's The Masked Singer's Octopus.

The new ITV talent show is driving viewers wild as they try to guess the famous names behind the costumes.

One of the characters is the Octopus - a colourful and bubbly character whose performance suggests she’s no stranger to the stage.

After the Octopus' performance this weekend, rumours about their identity have been rife - with fans suggesting names from the Minogue sisters to TV star  Gemma Atkinson.

However, Love Island star Laura has now revealed her own name has been in the mix - with even her own family members speculating it's her behind the costume.

She shared screenshots of a chat with her relatives, writing "Family chat is strong!"

One group member shared a picture of the Octopus and wrote: "Looking well Laura... The clues even seem like u on this one...

"Question is can u sing opera???"

Another added: "Did you hear when bits of her voice dropped...?" and they replied: "Yes sounds like Laura."

The other added: "Thought that too."

Could she be The Masked Singer's Octopus? (ITV)

It's not beyond the realms of possibility that Laura could be the Octopus as the shows are pre-recorded - meaning she could have fit filming in with her jaunts to South Africa for Love Island.

Other stars tipped as the Octopus include Sheree Murphy, who is best known for playing Tricia Dingle in Emmerdale.

Fellow Emmerdale star Lucy Pargeter has also been mentioned as well as Kylie Minogue.
