Love Island's Laura Whitmore and Amber Gill share tender friendship moment at NTAs
Laura Whitmore and Amber Gill shared a tender moment in their friendship after the National Television Awards yesterday.
The 36-year-old Love Island presenter shared a photo of her with the winner of the 2019 summer series of the ITV2 dating show as they enjoyed the spoils after the glamorous awards ceremony at the O2 in London.
Amber, 21, has been a firm supporter of Laura, especially in taking over from Caroline Flack as the presenter on Love Island after she stepped down at the end of 2019.
Laura and Amber are seen holding hands as the pair looked blissfully happy in each other's company as they sparkled in their outfits for the NTAs.
Posting the pic on her Instagram Story, Laura commented: "Love her @AmberRoseGill"
Amber has been a firm supporter of Laura, labelling her as "kind" after she took on the Love Island presenting role.
At the time she said that Laura would be a good replacement for Caroline, saying: "You don't really know what you're getting yourself into...
"So I feel it's somebody who's friendly and makes you feel comfortable, so yeah I like her."
Laura also shared a pic of her with husband Iain Stirling at the awards ceremony, with them full of smiles.
While Iain wore a black suit and bow tie ensemble while Laura was stunning in a shimmering silver dress that accentuated her slender figure.
Meanwhile, Laura Whitmore is refusing to take the wrap for Love Island fans being upset at Sunday night's reunion show.
Following the backlash, Laura took to her Instagram Stories to "clarify" that it was nothing to do with her as she penned a snarky post.
The mother of one wrote on Monday: "Shall I clarify a few other things? Hundreds of people work on Love Island. My job is not to organise seating arrangements. I barely know what seat I'm sitting in before the show as set changes so much.
"We invited Kaz to sit with Toby for his exes segment but she didn’t want to and it’s her choice to make. Everything is run through with the Islanders before hand. It's all about choice!"
Laura went on: "I only ask questions that are pre approved by the compliance division. A lot of meetings happen before I see the script and then I can add my voice."
She added: "Unlike previous years, the Islanders weren't allowed alcohol. Please remember they are just regular people who were nervous on live telly, I'm sure some would have loved a drink for the nerves."
