Love Island's Laura Anderson says wearing face mask convinced her to stop smoking

Love Island's Laura Anderson plans to stop smoking because it's "disgusting" and she believes it ages her.

The Scots reality star and Daily Record columnist told fans she's had an "epiphany" and wants to give up the habit pronto.

Laura, 31, revealed her new year's resolution while travelling in a taxi in Dubai where she is on holiday after flying out to see family over the festive break.

In an Instagram story, she explained the smell of cigarettes made her "sick" due to having to wear facemasks while out and about in all public spaces in the UAE country.

She said: "I’ve decided to eventually stop smoking.

"Do do you know why I think it is? It's because here you have to wear your mask outside, so when I put my mask on I can smell the smoke coming back on me, and it makes me really really sick.

"So I’m just like why am I doing it to myself?

"Plus if I smoke a lot when I'm drinking then my hangovers are just awful, so yeah I’ve decided it’s disgusting, it ages you, it's not a good look, its not cool and I just had a bit of an epiphany and I feel really good and I hope that its going to be easier than you think."

Laura accompanied the post with a bid for advice from followers on how to stop smoking.

She then spent the afternoon working up a sweat at a Dubai gym.

It wasn't the only health conscious moment recently for the former air steward.

Last week we reported Laura has warned fans to "reconsider" if they're thinking of getting a boob job.

She shared a candid series of snaps on her Instagram stories featuring the "gross scars" she's been left with following a breast augmentation when she was 18.
