Love Island's Laura Anderson joins Open Goal's Slaney for 'dating session' in Glasgow

Love Island's Laura Anderson was a special guest on this week's episode of Open Goal as she gave former footballer Paul Slane (Slaney) lots of dating tips.

The Daily Record columnist has recently been known for her Instagram series 'Laura's Love Letters' where she gives her followers advice on all things love and dating.

So when she met Slaney at Glasgow's Anchor Line for a drink and a chat, she wasn't quite sure what to expect.

Slaney admitted to Laura that he 'dates a lot' but they tend to go wrong due to him being a 'bag of nerves' which is why he has drafted her in to help him.

Before they begin, he cheekily asked the star if she would have stepped forward for him on ITV show Love Island to which Laura giggles and he then goes on to ask her if she is nervous.

Laura says: "Em, are we on a date? I thought I was your relationship guru!"

Slaney admitted to the Love Island star that he was nervous for their encounter and he went on to explain that it was down to a previous bad experience.

He said: "So I was over in Malia, me and all the boys went on a lads trip. So I met this bird right we got talking and went to the bedroom, fully clothed. So she went to the toilet, and as she was in the toilet, I've got the clothes aff and lay on the bed but with my boxers on...

"So she comes in and we eventually start...How can I say this? Right so... I thought I was doing it...

Laura interupts: "You thought you were doing it ?"

Slaney continues: "This is no word of a lie, I was going for about 8-10 seconds right, I was dead excited obviously, so she's like that 'wit you f*****g doing?'"

"So I've went out to my mates and said I've done it for the first time, but I never. So that had a big effect on me."

And Laura said that he shouldn't let a 'sexual experience' make him nervous for dating because it's 'different'.

And as Laura has been previously known her giving out dating advice on her Instagram, she was on hand to offer Slaney the best tips for finding love.

Laura asked Slaney about himself and dating and he goes on to reveal that he is quite a insecure and jealous person, particularly when he sees guys liking pictures of a girl he's chatting to on social media.

Laura said he needs to be a bit more confident in himself.

She said: "You need to work on your confidence from within".

The pair continue their chat and Slaney asks Laura for her number so she can help him with future dates, to which she agrees.

Former Celtic player Si Ferry started the Open Goal podcast series in May 2017 and it has been a huge hit ever since.
