Love Island 's Jess Shears has hit out at her followers who told her she shouldn't dye her hair because she's pregnant.
The reality star, who is , share a snap of her hair after she'd added a touch of blonde balayage.
But some critics took to her comments to slam her for dying her hair because she's expecting a baby.
Jess, 25, took to her Instagram stories to point out that she wasn't at risk of harming her child because the dye was only applied at the roots.
"For anyone commenting or messaging me about dying my hair. Also it's balayage so was not on my skin."
One commenter had written: "I thought you shouldn’t get your hair dyed/bleached when you’re pregnant?"
While another said: "You’re doing that when you’re pregnant?"
The image Jess shared was of a screenshot of a Google search 'dying hair when pregnant'.
The explanation from an American pregnancy site read: "Although fairly limited, most research indicates the chemicals found in both semi-permanent and permanent dyes are not highly toxic and are safe to use during pregnancy.
"In addition, only small amounts of hair dye may be absorbed by the skin, leaving little that would be able to reach the fetus."
Jess and Dom announced they were expecting their first child earlier this month by sharing a snap of a baby sonogram on Instagram.
It's the first baby for the pair, who met in the villa in 2017 and got engaged just three months after the series ended.
They married in Mykonos, Greece in October in a intimate ceremony attended by just 22 guests.
