Love Island star Jake Cornish has been branded the “biggest liar” in the villa by a dating and relationship expert.
And the specialist also believes that girlfriend Liberty Poole “deserves better” than his antics, after the couple’s relationship has been questioned by their co-stars and fans alike.
Jake and Liberty, whose nickname for each other is Jiberty, were regarded as the one of the strongest in the villa and tipped as early favourites to win the hit ITV2 show.
But Jake has faced an angry backlash over the last week for allegedly not being “genuine”.
His girlfriend Liberty has also been forced to question her beau following an explosive movie night screening in which Jake admitted doubts about the couple’s sexual chemistry.
After casting an eye on their antics, a dating expert has given their take on the drama.
“Jake and Liberty may have managed to kiss and make up after their recent troubles, but Jake’s hurry to ‘sweep things under the rug’ when she came to him with a genuine problem came across as manipulative and did nothing to resolve the issue,” Ruby Payne shared with this week's new! magazine.
“Jake’s smile that doesn’t quite reach the eyes and telltale body language show him to be the biggest fibber and game player of the year.
"Liberty deserves better, and I have a feeling she’ll realise it too when she gets out of the villa and sees his true colours," Ruby suggested, adding: "I predict a Curtis and Amy style break-up for these two somewhere down the line, possibly even on the flight home.”
This year’s gripping series finishes on Monday when the new Love Island champions will be crowned and pocket £50,000.
But Jake and Liberty only narrowly avoided being booted off the show last night in the latest public vote.
Brett and Priya were the couple voted out of the villa after a tense firepit vote, which left Jake and Liberty to survive for at least another day or two.
However, the pair have understandably now slipped down the pecking order as the favourites to win the show.
Toby and Chloe and Liam and Millie are now likely to be licking their lips at the chance to jump on Jake and Liberty’s rocky week with the final withing touching distance.
Kaz and Tyler are also still in the running for the top gong, but dating expert Ruby believes Tyler is keeping his options open.
“I fear he’ll soon think the grass is greener elsewhere,” they said. “The chemistry is apparent and they do make a truly sexy couple, but I just don’t think Tyler fancies Kaz as much as he’s letting on. Unfortunately, I don’t see much of a future for them outside the villa.”
Fellow contestants Faye and Teddy can still win the show but the expert believes Faye is “sabotaging the relationship” because of her insecurities.
And she has no doubts that Faye needs to “truly work through her insecurities” before problems arise further down the line.
