Love Island's Jacques makes explosive admission on what viewers didn't see in Casa Amor

Love Island's Jacques O'Neill has made an explosive admission about one part of Casa Amor that viewers watching the show at home didn't see.

The ex-rugby player, 23, spoke out on a recent tell-all podcast about the manipulative influence that Love Island producers had on him during the critical few days when the girls were away from the main villa.

Jacques told of how he was left "numb" after deciding to leave the famous villa after receiving backlash from the public over his behaviour on the show, particularly towards Paige Thorne after he played away in Casa Amor.

He also spilled the behind-the-scenes details on how the producers 'got into his head' telling him he looked "silly" when he tried to sleep outside to remain loyal to Paige as well as encouraging him to "test their connection".

"Luca slept outside the first night and I was prepared to do that as well. Because I didn’t want Luca being by himself and I was like it's respectful anyway," he said on former Love Islander Scott Thomas' Learning About Judgement podcast.

"And what really got into my head, because the first day the girls got in, people have said this, I was like a live switch, I literally changed.

"And I’m so glad I’m being able to speak about it because I want people to know.

"I followed Luca out the first night, we went out together. They (producers) come on the tannoy, and they go ‘Jacques you look silly’.

"I’m like 'pardon, what do you mean I look silly?' I started speaking into my mic 'what do you mean? Come on tell me?' And they say 'no you’re fine, we don’t mean that go to bed'.

"So I go straight to the beach hut and say 'tell me why I look silly, what’s happening?'

"They say, 'no we don’t mean it like that, it just looks like you’re following Luca,' and I’m like 'no no no it’s deeper than that, if I'm looking silly I'm not being a mug.' I have got a lot of pride and I don’t want to be mugged off.

"So I thought 'if I’m looking silly I’m going to wake up tomorrow and crack on.'

"And that’s where I changed. I literally woke up the next morning and I was saying to Dami, 'okay let's test it'.

"Because they (producers) were then saying in the beach hut 'do you not think you need to test your connection?' And I’m like, well, after last night if I’m looking silly then yeah I do, I do need to test my connection, let’s go."

Jacques went on to kiss Cheyanne Kerr during Casa Amor but he said on the podcast that he had intended to stay with Paige all along and hardly spoke to Cheyanne.

When he was asked if he believed his actions were "influenced" by the producers he said: "I’m old enough to make my own mistakes and deal with the consequences.

"No disrespect to Cheyanne, she’s a lovely girl and a very good looking girl but I was always going to stay with Paige.

"So it was so strange to go out, and they [edited it and] made it look like I was going to get with Cheyanne. I didn't speak to Cheyanne. I had that one night were I kissed her."
