Love Island's Jack Keating insists he applied for show and wasn't scouted by producers

Jack Keating has revealed he actually applied to go on Love Island just like everyone else, despite having world famous parents making him a desirable target for producers.

Thanks to his dad being Boyzone singer Ronan Keating, Irish lad Jack already had a showbiz connection in the form of a celebrity relative prior to appearing on the ITV2 show - just like former stars Dani Dyer, Tommy Fury and current Villa resident Gemma Owen.

But while other celebrity offspring contestants may have been scouted and approached by Love Island bosses, Jack insists he signed up for the reality TV series via the application form available to any show hopefuls.

Jack, 23, was one of the five male bombshells enlisted to enter Casa Amor and try tempt the girls earlier this month.

He sadly wasn't picked to join any of the girls to join them back in the main villa during the dramatic recoupling last week, but has since been dishing the dirt on his time on the show.

During a candid Q&A with his 31,100 Instagram followers on Tuesday night, the dumped islander was asked by one fan: "Did you apply for Love Island or were you approached?"

Alongside sharing a selfie of himself, Jack simply replied: "I applied."

His admission comes after he recently admitted Love Island bosses had previously approached his younger sister Missy, 21, to be on the show, only for her to turn it down and encourage Jack to apply.

"For the last two years they asked Missy. They scouted Missy to do the show and she’s been kind of like, 'Nah, it’s not really for me'," he recalled to Dublin Live.

"Then me and Missy I think had a couple of drinks and she was like: ‘Jack, why don’t you apply for it so I thought why not?’ It was never something I thought about doing before and I just thought why not."

He added: "I actually didn’t tell anyone, I didn’t tell my mum or my dad or anyone in my family. I didn’t tell anyone until pretty much when I got to go so I kept it as quiet as possible."

Jack is one of three children The One Show presenter Ronan shares with his ex-wife Yvonne Connolly.

Elsewhere during his candid chat with his Instagram fans on Tuesday, the reality TV star revealed his celebrity crush to be Dua Lipa and shared a message for Jacques O'Neill in the wake of his departure from the show.

Jacques tearfully bid farewell to his fellow islanders during Tuesday night's episode of Love Island, following a heated clash with new bombshell Adam Collard.

Following his emotional exit airing on ITV2, Jack was asked his thoughts on the rugby star heading home early.

"I'm absolutely heartbroken for him," Jack wrote on Instagram. "He clearly really likes Paige and you've got to respect him for making such a tough decision."

Tagging Jacques' Instagram account, he added: "Hope you're doing okay bro."
