Love Island's Jack Fowler was left unresponsive for days while in hospital under morphine.
The reality star, who shot to fame on 2018's Love Island, shared a snap from his hospital bed where he could be seen hooked to an IV drip.
Jack was rushed to hospital on Tuesday after he had been suffering with severe headaches and a lack of vision.
The telly personality had a lumbar puncture which is a medical procedure when a needle is inserted into the spinal canal to detect for diseases of the nervous system.
Doctors diagnosed the fitness guru with a viral meningitis which is a type of meningitis due to a viral infection.
Jack's silence had sparked concern among his fans which he addressed on Saturday - four days after he had been taken ill.
He wrote: “Crazy how many have sent me DM’s asking if I’m okay as I’ve been absent from IG. Thanks for the check-ups.
“Here’s an update. Unfortunately I was rushed to hospital Tuesday morning with severe headaches and lack of vision.
"I then had a lumbar puncture that showed I had viral meningitis .
“I was unresponsive for a few days whilst being under morphine and several antibiotics. But now on the road to recovery.”
The Love Island star explained he was back at home and resting after taking several antibiotics and morphine.
Jack headed out for a spot of lunch on Saturday as he treated himself to home comforts.
“Home now and resting up.” He added.
“Thank you for the messages. Also a massive thank you to the NHS and the amazing 24hour care that the doctors and nurses gave me.”
Jack found fame on Love Island in 2018 and he built up a loyal fan base on Instagram who have followed his journey since.
He had enjoyed a brief dalliance with surfer Laura Crane on the show but their romance quickly fizzled out after they were booted out of the villa.
