Love Island's Jack Fincham drives his car into a ditch and gets mistaken for Joey Essex

Love Island star Jack Fincham reportedly drove his new car into a ditch near Joyden's Wood in Kent on Wednesday evening.

The former pen salesman, 28, was remarkably unscathed and managed to jump back into his car and drive off after being helped by a number of passer-byers.

As Jack narrowly avoiding swerving into another car, the reality star unfortunately ended up in a nearby hedge.

Confused onlookers admitted they weren't 100% sure who the driver was and questioned if Jack was former TOWIE star Joey Essex.

According to The Sun , Jack was on his way to the airport with friends when he found himself in the incident.

A family driving past rushed over to help but the witness told the publication that Jack must have done "something stupid" to end up in the ditch.

The mum added: "He seemed really thankful for the help.

"He was really lovely and luckily wasn't injured – but I don't think his car was in a great shape, it was leaking all sorts."

She also admitted: "Hilariously my son thought he was Joey Essex, but he just joked 'I wish' and explained who he was."

The lady also revealed her husband "winched Jack's car and towed it to the road."

Jack later shared the original article on his Instagram and wrote: "Just what I needed on the way to an airport. Sorry @JoeyEssex" alongside a crying laughing emoji.

The reality star rose to fame on the 2018 series of ITV2's hit dating show Love Island.

He won the show with EastEnders Legend Danny Dyer's daughter, , however the pair officially called it quits in April this year and the Essex babe returned to her former flame Sammy Kimmence just weeks later.

After their turbulent romance, the Love Island hunk appeared on E4's Celeb Go Dating to restart his hunt for love.

However, the star was faced with backlash when fans of the show accused Jack of being rude and arrogant throughout his dates.

Jack has since hit back and claimed he had a very good reason for acting the way he did. He admitted it was and confessed he struggles with dates as people think they already know him.

Jack says now he’s concentrating on his boxing training and is hoping to step into the ring next year.
