Love Island's Indiyah Polack slams show bosses' choice of official photo for her series

Former Love Island star Indiyah Polack has slammed the choice of official photo for her series of the ITV2 dating show.

The 24-year-old reality star said she instantly deleted the picture when she left the famous villa as she disliked it so much.

The Londoner appeared on the show last year but was left disappointed by the snap used to promote the series.

Ahead of their grand entrance into the villa, all Islanders have a professional photoshoot with the images shared far and wide as they’re used to promote that year’s instalment.

But on Sunday night’s Aftersun, host Maya Jama suggested that an impression of the Islanders can’t be made from the promotional pictures, while panel guest Indiyah slammed the one used of her.

Maya said: “Do you know what it is, you can never really tell too much from the photo because we know that's the first shot, any one gets picked, and then you see them in person or you see them on telly, and you're like, actually a big spice.”

Indiyah piped up: “The photos do not count.”

Maya asked her: “Did you like your photo?”

Indiyah replied: “Absolutely not. It was the first thing I archived when I got out. I said, ‘Get it off the page.’”

Maya told her: “No, I think you look banging, Indiyah.”

It’s not the first time an Islander has bemoaned their official photos.

Indiyah's fellow series cast member, Coco Lodge, accused the show’s bosses of only taking two photos of her before she went into the Casa Amor villa, which “didn’t capture her in the best light”.

The former reality star, who has been very outspoken about the series since leaving last year, said she was stunned that the production team didn’t take more as she thought they would want the Islanders to look “fit”, especially as she was entering as a bombshell.

She previously told The Sun: “They did me dirty and when I saw the photo they used for the first time when I peeked into the producers’ room at the villa, I was like, ‘What the f**k, it’s horrendous. How dare they?’”

The star added: “People actually said it looked like my face was in a house fire and a car crash.

“Others claimed I was transgender, called me Caitlyn Jenner and insisted I wasn’t born a woman.”
