Love Island's Hugo Hammond felt 'intimidated' when confronted by 'exes' at reunion

By Jamie Roberts

Hugo Hammond wasn't prepared to face the heat as he attended the Love Island reunion on Sunday.

The 25-year-old PE teacher was plonked next to all four of his "exes" from this year's reality TV show and faced some uncomfortable chats.

Hugo was sat next to Amy Day, Georgia Townend, Abigail Rawlings and Sharon Gaffka as the former islanders all met up for the first time since leaving the Majorcan villa.

And Hugo attempted to stay calm as he entered the stage with a smile on his face. But once he got himself comfy, it was clear there were glaring eyes shooting daggers his way - especially from Amy who had a heated row with him last time they met.

Host Laura Whitmore tried to coax Hugo into discussing the failings in the villa and his former flames were far from impressed when he didn't give her a clear reason as to why none of the pairings worked out.

There was a frosty atmosphere in the air throughout the chat, and Hugo has since said: "I don't think it was unfair but say if it was the other way around, say it was one girl and four guys up there it would never have happened.

"So it was a little bit intimidating, a little bit like oh my god, what a situation to be in."

However, it wasn't all doom and gloom for the teacher as Georgia appeared to make amends with him. She posted a story on her Instagram account showing her and Hugo having an open and honest chat about how things went down at the reunion.

“For me it's just a massive shame because I generally don’t have a bad word to say about the girls,” Hugo told Georgia when he was questioned about his relationships with the ladies.

"It's just a shame that they keep bringing me up in the press and what not. It's just sad it's kind of got this far.

"I don't have a problem with them and I wish them all the best in the future."

The pair then seemed to laugh off the criticism aimed at Hugo before he said of the other trio of ladies: "As long as they stop talking about me then it's calm, you know what I mean?"

AJ Bunker had labelled him a club rat after he was snogging strangers on a night out.

Since leaving the villa Hugo has been extremely active on social media, especially TikTok. He has posted many videos to the platform and has even started offering to create personal video messages for fans for £50.
