Love Island's 'heartbroken' fans claim show has ruined Valentine's Day after dumping

Love Island fans admitted they were left "sobbing" and "heartbroken" as the dumping of Shaughna Phillips "ruined" Valentine's Day.

The show favourite was ditched from the villa on Friday night, as Luke M chose Demi Jones over her in the latest recoupling.

As the only single girl left she was immediately voted off the show, with islanders left in tears.

Her pal from day one Paige Turley felt the loss the most, unable to stop herself breaking down as they embraced by the fire pit.

Other Islanders including Finn Tapp, Siannise Fudge and Demi Jones were also crying as they said their goodbyes.

But they weren't the only ones, as the viewers tuning in on the most romantic day of the year at home were also a mess.

Having barely gotten over the moving speeches from the boys about their chosen girls, they were dealt with the loss of Shaughna.

As many predicted the twist, others confessed the moment was too much.

Not only that, but seeing her leave and how the Islanders had reacted, especially Paige, had left many claiming the episode had ruined Valentine's Day.

The ITV show's decision to air a dumping on this day of all days left many taking to Twitter to share their upset.

One fan commented: "Valentines ruined getting rid of shaungha SHADE."

Another said: "Well thanks a lot #loveisland my valentines been ruined now Shaugnas left.... thanks a f***ing lot."

A third tweeted: "I was supposed to laugh at drama and I’m crying instead f**k this happy valentines day I guess."

Meanwhile another said: "My girl Shaughna worst Valentine’s Day ever :(."

Love Island airs every night at 9pm on ITV2.
