Love Island's Georgia wrote heartfelt letter urging trolls to 'be nice' before going in villa

New Love Island bombshell Georgia Townend wrote a heartfelt letter to viewers before she went into the villa in Wednesday night's episode.

The 28-year-old marketing executive said doing the show is "completely out of my comfort zone" and urged people to "be nice" to her.

She also apologised to all those she'd be "evasive with" before going into the villa as she kept her Love Island stint a secret.

Her family shared the letter to her Instagram account, which they will be running while she's on Love Island, alongside one of the Essex girl's official pictures for the show.

Introducing her letter, they wrote: "The cat is finally out of the bag; our G is the latest bombshell to enter the @loveisland villa!"

"Hope you're all excited to meet our girl tonight," they added, alongside a champagne emoji. "Here's a message written by her before she flew to sunny Spain that she wanted us to share…"

Georgia's message then began, saying: "For those of you who are new round here, Hey! My names George, I'm 28 years old, a one-part Essex, one-part Australian cocktail looking for my umbrella.

"I've been single for around 5 years and naively thought 2020 was going to be my year, romantically speaking.

"I liked the round number, it seemed full of promise and possibility, and surely of all the nearly 8 billion people on the planet, I'd be able to find one that would go out with me!

"Despite wasting my birthday wish on finding 'the one', I conversely spent the most part of 2020 in bed like Charlie's grandparents.

"I completed Netflix, tried my hand at knitting and baked more banana bread than you can shake a stick at.

"So with multiple lockdowns now under my belt, hours spent contemplating what it really was I wanted out of life, this year I've decided to make LOVE somewhat more of a priority, and hand the reigns over to @loveisland.

"Tonight I'll be laying it all bare on national TV, with my heart fully on my sleeve.

"@ITV2 - 9pm - please be nice, as this is completely out of my comfort zone!

"Massive apology to all those I've been evasive with, I hope it all now makes sense."

Georgia said she has her eye on Hugo (ITV)

Georgia said she had her eye on Hugo Hammond, telling him at the fire pit: "Hugo, you're the one!"

Before going in, she made it clear from the start that it was Hugo that she wanted to get to know.

She said: "Hugo - he is my absolute number one and I can’t wait to get to know him.
