Love Island's Gemma Owen's romance with Luca tested as she already knows Casa Amor hunk

Gemma continues to be the main star of Love Island, thanks to her famous footballer dad Michael Owen.

So far this series, the 19-year-old dressage rider has seen her ex-boyfriend Jacques O'Neill walk through the doors of the villa and is soon to be united with another one of her connections.

On Friday it was announced roofing director Billy Brown, 23, from Surrey will be among the six sexy new men hoping to lure the ladies when they arrive at Casa Amor.

And a quick look at Billy's followers shows Gemma already keeps tabs on him on Instagram.

And it seems the hunk isn't afraid on stepping any toes in a bid to get the girl he wants.

Speaking ahead of his arrival, cheeky chappy Billy said: "I’m very competitive in anything I do. Whatever it is, I always want to win. This is about winning the girl I want, sort of thing.

"If that girl has a better connection with me and likes the look of me more then I’m obviously going to change her mind."

Billy's arrivals comes after Gemma's ex Jacques, who dated the stunning brunette for a year, arrived on the scene.

Gemma is matched up with Luca Bish at the moment but it seems bosses have plenty of tricks up their sleeve to test the romance.

Blazing Squad’s Marcel Somerville, who appeared on the ITV2 show in 2017, previously claimed producers are desperate to give Gemma a positive storyline arc after some viewers took an initial dislike to her.

“What Love Island want to do is have Michael Owen walk through the doors – that’s going to be TV gold,” says Marcel, speaking at the launch of Poke House Covent Garden.

“Their goal is to have a hero arc and I feel like it’s coming along. She’s a person they want to turn into a main character – they put her ex-boyfriend in the villa for a reason, as she’s got more dimensions to her.

“At first, she came across snotty and like she’s entitled, but now she’s coming across more normal.”

Love Island, tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox
