Love Island's Gemma Owen rattled by 'patronising' Ekin-Su as viewers lap up the tension

Gemma Owen was left rattled by Love Island new arrival Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, branding her patronising for describing her as 'like a little sister.'

After viewers got a glimpse of Ekin-Su and fellow bombshell new arrival Afia right before credits rolled on Tuesday's episode, they were seen on screen properly on Thursday as both went on dates with Liam. And, while those went well, it was Ekin-Su's entrance to the villa that really caused fur to fly as she made her intentions clear from the off.

The 27-year-old actress made no bones about the fact she wasn't on Love Island to 'make friends,' which got the girls, including Michael Owen's daughter Gemma, feeling threatened straight away. Ekin-Su then made Gemma's first impression of her even less favourable when, after discovering she was only 19, said she 'was like a little sister she could look after.'

Discussing what she thought of Ekin-Su in the Beach Hut, Gemma said: "She seems like a lovely girl, but yeah, very forward, going to go for what she wants...yeah that's annoyed me a bit." Ekin-Su then wound Gemma up even more when she asked Davide, the guy she is coupled up with if he "was all talk and no action," as Gemma cringed next to them.

The teenager was clearly still bothered about the 'little sister' remark Ekin-Su made about the night before as, speaking on the day beds, the following day as Ekin-Su worked out with Davide, Gemma snapped: "I feel like if it was the other girl (Afia) and she was getting to know him, because she's like a genuine...she'd done it in a nice way.

"She's made it very clear she's like 'I'm fiery, I'm this, I'm that,' she made a comment yesterday like 'oh you can come to me for advice and I can be your big sister.' Who the f**k are you talking to? You might be trying to be nice but I don't appreciate patronising s**t like that."
