Love Island's first look trailer with Iain Stirling and Laura Whitmore after start date 'leaked'

Love Island is back as fans were treated to a glimpse at the brand new series coming this summer.

The first look trailer dropped today featuring Scots voiceover star Iain Stirling and wife and host Laura Whitmore who sounded the alarm for its return.

The host swings a pink mallet to smash the heart-shaped glass on an alarm, which reads: "In case of Love Island, crack on."

Series 7 of the ITV2 dating show is expected to kick off on June 28 2021, with the first promo featuring new tagline 'this is not a drill' to air during Saturday's The Masked Dancer.

Fans are already speculating where Love Island could be filmed this year after the first look trailer was filmed in the UK.

Producers have yet to confirm where the villa will be this year but it is unlikely to be in the UK as a crucial part of the show is its topical climate, The Mirror reports.

Edinburgh-born Iain Stirling confirmed the news the dating show is back after posting various throwback photos recording his voiceovers in the studio.

In the Instagram caption, he joked: "Love Island has taken me to some amazing places over the years. So delighted to finally see it return!"

Love Island fans will be eager to see their favourite show back on TV after last year’s series was cancelled due to the global Covid-19 pandemic.

A source said: "Love Island bosses are determined to return to the villa this summer and have worked hard to make it happen.

"Although they are confident the series will go ahead in the original location, there are still concerns over rules suddenly changing. However, at the moment it's looking good."

A Love Island fan site claimed earlier this week that Love Island will be back on television screens on Monday, June 28 at 9pm, Manchester Eving News reports.

This hasn't yet been confirmed by ITV2.

Host Laura Whitmore and husband Iain Stirling will be joining her on the island along with their baby daughter, who they welcomed earlier this year.

While some features remain the same, it's been reported that ITV bosses are hoping to make the 2021 series the most inclusive yet.

Sources say staff have been looking out for bisexual islanders for the first time in the show's history.

The broadcaster will be hoping their flagship ITV2 show returns with a bang after they were forced to pull the plug last year in the pandemic.

Love Island returns this summer on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
