Love Island's Faye claims Teddy bust-up 'made them stronger' but she won't watch it

Faye Winter and Teddy Soares have spoken out about their Love Island row and have insisted it’s "made them stronger" despite the major backlash.

In uncomfortable scenes that aired during the ITV2 series, Faye was seen lashing out at Teddy in a heated exchange after a movie night revealed he had admitted finding another girl attractive during the Casa Amor twist.

Clarisse Juliette later coupled up with Tyler Cruickshank, only sharing kisses with Teddy within the context of party games - while Teddy made a point to remain loyal to Faye, but the clip shown to Faye sent her into a rage.

Speaking on Lorraine today in their first interview together since returning to the UK, Faye admitted she hasn’t watched the bust-up, which caused 25,000 Ofcom complaints and demands for her to be removed from the island.

“I actually haven't watched it back,” she said. “We were living it, we were in the moment, and we know exactly what happened. Obviously, it's not nice. It's not nice for anyone to see.

“Yeah, I'm embarrassed. I've apologised, and I've apologised on more than one occasion, but you know, we're over it now as a couple.

“So, it's made us stronger, and we're just looking forward to the future. But it's just such a shame that it's been such a big part of the show.”

Teddy also said that he understood why she got so upset, and that made it easier for him to stay calm in the row.

“We understand each other quite well, so I can definitely see why she would be annoyed, receiving the postcard, and it's a surreal moment that would never happen in the real world,” he said.

“So I kind of, I was shown very understanding of the way that she was, and I was devastated obviously that I hurt her. I never like seeing her cry at all, so it was painful to see.”

Ultimately, the pair think that they’re actually now stronger for the argument, and are planning on moving in together in order to make their relationship work.

“The future for us is really bright, we're looking forward to it,” she said. “Obviously get out of the isolation period, and then first day we can, we are back together.

“And then, we are going to be looking for a place but it's going to be that I will spend half my time there, half my time in Devon because we're still in a honeymoon period and we still want to be able to have a real relationship so, but it will be our place.”

Faye and Teddy - who are currently isolating away from each other - came in third place in the finale on Monday night, beating Kaz Kamwi and Tyler Cruickshank, who came in fourth.

Chloe Burrows and Toby Aromolaran came in second place, while Millie Court and Liam Reardon were declared this year’s winner.

Millie and Liam split the £50,000 winnings between them.

Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV.
