Love Island's Elma Pazar begs fans to top up her bank account as she can't claim furlough

Love Island star Elma Pazar has begged her followers to donate money to her bank account as she’s unable to earn any money throughout the latest lockdown.

Elma, who entered the villa as a bombshell arrival alongside Maura Higgins on Season 5 of the ITV2 show, is an eyelash technician.

The Essex native has revealed she’s been left severely strapped for cash as she’s had to close her business due to the latest England lockdown.

And the 28-year-old businesswoman has heartbreakingly taken to her social media channels to beg fans to send cash to her bank account to see her through lockdown.

Elma revealed she’s not able to claim furlough and has been left with no income.

She wrote on Twitter : “If anyone wants to donate to my bank account to cheer me up, I’ll be happy to send you over my details.

“No time wasters please. Many thanks kind regards xxx.”

While many fans kindly offered to donate, one follower savagely responded to the plea, writing: “Or you could look for a real job? ‘influencer on social media" / "love island contestant’ are not careers.”

Elma was quick to defend herself however, replying: “I mean people do make careers out of them, and people earn well from them which would imply they are ‘real jobs’.

"However I’m an eyelash technician, which is also a ‘real job’ and can’t work due to Covid restrictions. Xx.”

The same follower responding again, suggesting she try volunteering. He penned: “It doesn't bring in cash but you can work as a volunteer for the NHS, it'd cheer plenty of girls up with mh to have a bit of tlc which might be included in that role.”

Keeping the conversation polite, Elma replied: “Very nice of you to suggest volunteering, I’ll look into it.

“But unfortunately for me that’s still not making a change to my bank balance so my quest continues. Good night god bless xx.”

In response to another fan, Elma revealed she is “apparently not eligible” to claim furlough so, like thousands of other business owners in the beauty industry has been left without income.

Many workers in the beauty industry, including aestheticians, makeup artists, therapists and clinicians, have not been able to earn anywhere close to their usual income since the first wave of the pandemic hit.

The latest lockdown has left thousands unable to earn at all and not able to claim funds under the furlough scheme.

In addition to contributing billions to the UK economy, the beauty industry provided one in 60 jobs for UK workers.

It also generates more money for the country than motor vehicle manufacturing.

Elma revealed she’s had a tough start to 2021 in other areas of her life too, as she took a trip to A&E after falling and hurting her arm and has been writhing with worry over her family member who has been seriously ill with coronavirus.

“So 13 days after being rushed into hospital for not breathing due to having Covid pneumonia and being in ICU, my mums partner is home safe and sound,” Elma told fans on Saturday.
