Love Island's Ekin-Su breaks silence on rumours she'll replace Laura Whitmore next season

Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu has broken her silence after rumours began circulating around her potential jump into the role of presenter for the next season of Love Island.

The Turkish beauty was crowned the 2022 winner alongside Davide Sanclimenti after winning the hearts of Irish and UK viewers.

On the back of Laura Whitmore’s exit from the show, many fans took to social media to insist that Ekin-Su would be the perfect replacement.

In recent days, the busy star admitted that even though she would love it, her hectic schedule wouldn’t allow her to take over a presenting role on top of everything else she has going on.

"I would love to take her [Whitmore] place but I don’t think I’m ready yet," Ekin-Su told Metro UK.

"I feel like I’ve got so much going on."

Since leaving the show, the 28-year-old has been adjusting to her new life in the public eye and has been working on her collaboration with well-known fashion brand, Oh Polly.

Even though the timing is not right at this point, she insisted that the idea of hosting Love Island did interest her and she’s not ruling it out in the future.

"One day, fingers crossed!" the reality star said.

This comes just weeks after Laura Whitmore devastated fans as she announced she’d be stepping down from her hosting duties after three successful series of the show.

"I won’t be hosting the next series of Love Island," she wrote in an Instagram post.

"There are certain elements of the show I’ve found very difficult that cannot be changed some due to the format, including the flying back and forth to South Africa along with my new conflicting projects.

“I wish it was still possible but know you’ll be in safe hands."

Laura went on to pay tribute to the show’s original host, Caroline Flack, and said: "I was only planning to fill in for Caroline for a series and it turned into 3 series. I hope I did you proud, Caroline."

A replacement has yet to be announced, but many are throwing potential names around online, including the Irish ex-islander, Maura Higgins.
